December 2010
Jeremy had a wonderful Christmas. Jeremy is the kind of boy who enjoys playing with the wrapping paper as much as checking out the actual gift. Jeremy participated in a variety of activities during the two week winter break. He went bowling, to the Wild Animal Park, Universal Studios, on the Harbor Light Cruise, to a number of Christmas parties, and, of course, visited with Santa. Jeremy loves to be outside most of all. He was sad, and did a lot of hand biting, when he was stuck inside for several days during the rain. Luckily Jeremy enjoys using his walker and is even happy if he can only walk throughout the house.
August 2010
Jeremy is doing great. Jeremy's adoption was finalized this year which was wonderful. He also finally received a new wheelchair and now his seating and positioning is so much better. Jeremy can successfully
propel his own wheelchair now. We also ordered a new walker for Jeremy. Jeremy should receive his walker within the next couple of weeks.
Now that summer school is over, Jeremy is enjoying daily opportunities to go out in the community. Jeremy definitely loves to be outdoors. He likes going for walks and playing in the water. Amazingly, Jeremy can actually walk when he is in the pool. When Jeremy is placed in water just above his waist he can walk forward without any life jacket or holding on to the rails. I guess it is something about the buoyancy in the water that makes this possible for Jeremy. Given the opportunity, Jeremy would love to stay in the water all day. This summer Jeremy also had a fun week of day camp with Special Camp for Special Kids. This was a fun experience for Jeremy and I am sure he loved having his own one-to-one counselor. Jeremy continues to be a very happy and playful guy who loves attention from adults and peers.

November 2009
Jeremy joined our family right before school
started. We were actually matched with him last
spring but it took it took almost six months to
get the pieces in place for Jeremy to move from
Washington state to join our family in
California. We are so glad he finally made it!
Jeremy lived in foster care for many years in
Washington. We saw his photo on Washington's
waiting children web site and fell in love!
Jeremy is a very happy boy who almost always has
a smile on his face. Jeremy loves to be outside.
He was about to go swimming at Wild Rivers prior
to it closing for the season. He absolutely
loves it. I can't wait until next summer so I
can get some pictures of Jeremy on the water
slides. Jeremy also loves crawling around in the
house and outside. He will play ball with his
brothers and even chase in his wheelchair.
Hopefully Jeremy will be able to finalize by the
new year!
