July 2005
Alin has been going back and forth to Los Angeles several times a week for auditions. His agency, KSA, is really trying hard to Alin working. Although committing to committing to all of these auditions takes a lot of time during the day, Alin and Ann enjoy spending time together during their trips to Hollywood, often during rush hour! Alin is enjoying the process of attending these auditions and we are all hoping that he will be hired to do a commercial or television show very soon.

June 2005
Well it's official...Alin is now a middle school student! We are so proud of Alin's accomplishments. When Alin joined our family at the end of 1999 from Romania he didn't speak a word of English. He had only been in school a short period of time in Romania and had only very beginning academic skills at the age of seven. Today, at almost 12 years old, Alin is an excellent student. He always tries his best and takes great pride and responsibility with completing his school work. All of his teachers describe him as helpful, caring, and concerned about others. Alin has also been described as a "model student."

Alin has many friends from school and also in our bigger community. Alin is looking forward to starting at Sowers Middle School in the fall of 2005.

After school Alin is very involved in band and acting. Alin starting playing the flute in September and is very dedicated to practicing and improving his skills. Not only does Alin practice every day, sometimes many times throughout the day, he also makes sure that Jeffrey and Javier are also keeping up with their practicing as well. Not only are Alin's flute playing skills improving but he is also teaching himself how to play the keyboard, the baritone horn, and percussion instruments. Alin will continue with youth band practice and private lessons over the summer and will join the band class as an elective in 6th grade.

Alin also loves to act. He is involved with the MYART children's theater group and the South Coast Repertory acting classes. Alin also completed all of the commercial acting workshops taught by Pamela Campus. We are working close with Alin's casting agency, KSA, to improve his skills so that he can be sent out more frequently for auditions.

This summer Alin will be attending two weeks of Camp Bravo, a residential acting camp for teenagers. He will also attend sports camp for a week and Surfing Camp for two weeks. Alin is looking forward to summer break as his schedule is jam packed with lots of interesting and stimulating activities.

Alin is Inducted into the Huntington Beach Youth Character Hall of Fame!

SEPTEMBER 2004
Alin (11) is returning to school on September 7th as a fifth grader at Moffett Elementary School.  He is looking forward to the new school year after his very busy summer.  This summer Alin participated in several very cool summer camp programs.  Alin went to Sea World Camp where he learned about how to care for the many creatures living at the park.  Alin also attended a Soccer Camp, Film Making camp and and Acting camp.  Alin's hobby and big interest is acting and film production.  We are really encouraging Alin in this area as he has shown natural talent in acting and screen play writing.  Currently Alin is taking private acting classes where he hopes to hone his skills. Additionally, Alin will resume his involvement with South Coast Repertory Theater classes and MYART Children's Theater in September.

JULY 2004:
The 2003-2004 school year was Alin's first year in public school and he had a wonderful experience.  In fact, Alin's teacher nominated Alin for the "Youth Character Award" for the city of Huntington Beach.  Alin not only received the award but was one of the few award winners to be entered into the Huntington Beach City Character Award Hall of Fame!  We are very proud of Alin, he has come a long way since those first days as a scared little boy who could only speak Romanian!

Alin is also a budding filmmaker.   He received a movie camera for his birthday and gift certificate to attend filmmaking camp for two weeks this summer.  Besides being an actor, Alin hopes make documentaries as a career.  Alin continues to film all of our family events and activities because as he puts it "I might need b-roll for my movie!"

FEBRUARY 2004: This year Alin has also decided to focus on improving his acting and play writing skills.  Alin takes acting lessons through the South Coast Repertory Theater actors training program.  He also participated with MYART Children's Theater group where he got a lead part in the production of "The Sound of Music" Throughout the year, Alin has acted in a number of student and independent films.  He has even written a play that he hopes to produce one day.
